- President Pranab Mukherjee conferred the National Geoscience Awards 2014 at a function to be held in Rashtrapati Bhawan(New Dehli).These awards are presented to honour individuals and team of Scientists for their outstanding contribution in the field of Geoscience (Applied or fundamental),Mining and allied areas.
- According to Road Transport and highways Minister Nitin Gadkari Road construction in India has accelerated to an all all time high pace of 20 km per day.
- China has successfully launched a retrievable scientific research satellite.It will aims to help scientist to study micro gravity and space life science.
- Amnesty International reports that there was a dramatic 54% increase in the number of execution around the world.The highest execution took place in China ,Iran ,Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
- Five Time World Champion Vishwanathan Anand will be honoured with the Hridyanath Mangeshkar Award. He will get a cash of Rs.2 Lakh and a Memento.
- The Mahanadi Coalfields limited has become the no.1 coal producer in the country.
- East coast Railway has emerged as the largest freight railway zone of Indian Railways in 2015-16.They have loaded 173.49 million tonnes of freight.
- Rajiv Pratap Rudi has launched the Transnational skill standards benchmarked to the United Kingdom across 82 identified job roles.It aims to support international mobility of Indian Workforce.
- Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal’s and his family members have been declared as willful defaulters by the SBI.
- Iceland’s Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson has resigned as he is accused of concealing million of dollars worth of family assets(Panama Paper Leaks).

- India has signed a MoU with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for a possible $100 million line of credit to simplify exports to IDB’s member countries.
- Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned a seasonwise tiltable canal top solar PV plant at Bhimavaram in Andhra Pradesh.
- Mumbai has got its first air-conditioned suburban local train.The Fare of the train will around Rs 60 to Rs.70 from CST to Panvel.
- Delhi government has passed a proposal to build a memorial for late President APJ Abdul Kalam at Dilli Haat, South Delhi.
- Manish Sharma will be the first Indian to be elected as the Senior Executive in Japanese Electronic Giant Panasonic.
- The Architect or father of the Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS), Mr. Myneni Hari Prasad Rao has passed away in Chennai. He was 88 year old.
- Mother Dairy, an Indian FMCG company has partnered with Indian Premium League (IPL) cricket team Delhi Daredevils as its principal sponsor.
