What is IBPS : Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous agency in India, which started its operation in 1975 as Personnel Selection Services (PSS).In 2011, IBPS announced a Common Written Examination (CWE) for the selection Officers and Clerks in Indian banks.

IBPS CWE is now mandatory for anyone who seeks an employment in 20 public sector and Regional Rural banks. IBPS periodically accepts the exam applications from the candidates at their website, and the exams are organized at various locations in the country in online mode.

An IBPS Recruitment is done in three stages. The first phase is Common written examination, followed by Interview and the final placement. In this post we will discuss about IBPS interview process.

Common Interview : In 2012, IBPS announced that the participating banks would no longer conduct separate interviews for successful candidates after the CWE. Instead, IBPS itself will arrange a common interview (CI)  for them at different locations and will prepare a final merit list.

Interview EligibilityCandidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE will subsequently be called for an Interview.Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website www.ibps.in. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

IBPS interview Panel for Clerks and PO:

Interview Panel: Mainly their are 4-5 members in the interview panel. Most of them are retired managers of bank. Whole interview centre divided in different panels and there is  one chairman of those panels for one center.For Example ,If your interview is fixed at Rohtak center than,Then at Rohtak,There will be 7 Panels and there is one chairmen who will control the working of the panel.This year Punjab National Bank’s Retired Managers and DGMs are conducting the interviews.There are 7 panels of Interviewers for one center and Panel for the interviews will be selected in the morning of date of interview. Interviews for clerical post will be around 5-7 minutes long.
