    3.Music:Henry Threadgill for in For a penny,In for a pound

    6.The Associated press won the award for Public Services in Journalism.
    7.The Los Angles was awarded as the Breaking News Prize.
  2. The Union Cabinet gave its approval for signing the Paris Agreement adopted at the 21st conference of parties held in Paris in Dec 2015.This agreement is signed by Prakash Javdekar.
  3. Bounnhang Vorachit was appointed as the new President of Laos.
  4. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Management has deposited 1311 KG of pure gold bars in Public sector bank (Punjab National Bank) under the gold Monetisation Scheme.
  5. RBL bank has launched an exclusive branch for startups in Bengaluru.
  6. World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim announced that the World Bank Group will invest 2.5 billion US dollars over 5 years in education projects that directly benefit adolescent girls.
  7. The NDA Government released a Rs.200 commemorative coin and a Rs.10 circulation coin on the occasion of the Martyrdom day of Tatya Tope, one of the outstanding Indian leaders of the 1857 revolt against the British.
  8. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced a new annual global home and away league, involvingworld’s leading hockey nations, to be launched in 2019.
  9. India’s trade deficit touched 5.07 billion dollars in March from February’s 6.54 billion. It is attributed to fall in global crude oil prices. On year on year basis, the deficit was down to 118.46 billion dollars from 137.69 billion.
  10. President Pranab Mukherjee presented Hindi Sevi Samman for the year 2012, 2013 and 2014.Eleven persons were honoured with Gangasharan Singh award for their contribution towards promotion and training in Hindi and Six persons were given Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi award for their contribution to Hindi journalism and creative writing.
  11. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, as the new chief selector.
  12. Hockey India has decided to withdraw the National junior team from the sixth edition of annual Sultan of Johor Cup (SOJC) to be held from October 31 to November 6 in Johor Bahru, citing injury concerns.
  13. The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank today said they are joining forces with other international organizations to cooperate on tax issues and develop new tools and standards for taxing multinational enterprises.
  14. Union Minister for Science and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan launched the Twinning Network Program under Department of Biotechnology in Kohima today.Twinning Network Program on Chemical Ecology is a new collaborative and interdisciplinary programme in Chemical Ecology between institutions in the North Eastern Region, NER, and partners in Bangalore.
